Guides by app

Before you start

About YouTube Vanced issues: YouTube Vanced was discontinued in March 2022, and many of its problems no longer have a permanent fix. If the same Vanced issue keeps coming back, your time is better spent looking at current alternatives than on repeat repairs.

For ReVanced issues, check two things first: that Manager is up to date and that you patched the recommended base app version. An unsupported app version is behind most patch failures.

General troubleshooting steps

  1. Identify which app you are using - Vanced (discontinued) or ReVanced (active)
  2. Check your app version - For ReVanced, use the recommended supported version
  3. Clear cache and data - Go to Settings → Apps → [App] → Clear Cache
  4. Check companion apps - Make sure MicroG/GmsCore is installed and up to date
  5. Check your internet - Test the same connection with the official YouTube app
  6. Re-patch if using ReVanced - A fresh patch clears up problems that survive everything else
  7. Check community resources - Reddit and the official docs often have fixes for recent breakage

Frequently asked questions

YouTube Vanced was discontinued in March 2022 and gets no updates. Each change YouTube makes to its backend breaks the app a little more, so crashes become more frequent over time.

Non-root ReVanced needs GmsCore for Google account login. Install or update GmsCore, and make sure battery optimization is not restricting it.

This usually means a signature conflict. Uninstall the existing version of the app before installing the patched one.

The most common cause is patching an unsupported base app version. Always use the version Manager recommends.

If you are on Vanced and the same problems keep returning, yes. Switching to ReVanced or an alternative beats fighting an app that no longer gets updates.
