About VancedApp

📅 Last updated: August 2026

VancedApp is an independent informational website about YouTube Vanced, ReVanced, Android video app alternatives, and related troubleshooting topics. We aim to keep the information accurate, current, and honest about safety.

Why This Site Exists

YouTube Vanced was discontinued in March 2022, after the team behind it received a cease and desist letter from Google. Version 17.03.38 was the last release. People did not stop searching for it, and that gap between demand and reality is now filled largely by sites advertising a "latest official Vanced" that does not exist.

This site was built to answer the same questions without that incentive. If an app is dead, the page says so. Where the honest answer is that something cannot be fixed, that is the answer given, even when it is not what a reader searching for a download wants to read.

Our Mission

We want to be the most complete independent resource for people researching YouTube Vanced, its history, its successors, and the wider ecosystem of Android video applications.

What We Cover

  • YouTube Vanced: history, status, and factual information about the discontinued project
  • ReVanced: independent guides about the community patching ecosystem
  • Alternatives: neutral comparisons of NewPipe, LibreTube, SmartTube, YouTube Premium, and more
  • Troubleshooting: organized solutions for common Android video app problems
  • Safety: APK verification guidance and protection against fake downloads

How Pages Get Written

Research starts with primary sources: a project's own repository, its release notes, its documentation, and any announcement its maintainers have published. Community discussion on places like XDA, Reddit, and F-Droid is used to find out what people actually run into, then checked back against those primary sources before anything is stated as fact.

Every page is classified as covering either a maintained project or a discontinued one, and that distinction drives the writing. Discontinued projects are described in the past tense, carry a status warning, and never receive install instructions written as though the software were current. Maintained projects get instructions pointing at the maintainer's own release channel. Our review process and safety methodology set out the criteria in full.

Content is also published in several languages, with the English pages as the source of record. A correction there is what triggers the corresponding fix elsewhere.

How Download Links Are Chosen

For projects that are still maintained, links point to the maintainer's own distribution channel and nowhere else: GitHub releases, F-Droid, or an official website. Aggregator and mirror sites are not linked. YouTube Vanced is the exception, because no official source exists any more. Links for the discontinued Vanced APK point to a community-maintained archive of the final release, and the pages that carry them say plainly that the software is unmaintained and that any file should be verified before installing. We do not scan, sign, or certify any file.

What We Are Not

  • We are not affiliated with YouTube, Google, Team Vanced, or ReVanced
  • We do not develop or maintain any of the apps we cover
  • We do not claim to be an official source for any app
  • We do not host APK files ourselves; download links point to a community-maintained archive of the discontinued Vanced APK and to official project sources, and any file should be verified before installing
  • We do not perform security audits, malware scans, or signature verification, and no page here should be read as clearing a file

Editorial Standards

All content is reviewed for accuracy, neutrality, and compliance with our editorial policy. Every page carries a last-updated date, and status-sensitive pages are revisited when a project's situation moves rather than on a fixed schedule. No project covered here sponsors, reviews, or approves what is written about it. If you find an error, the corrections policy explains what to send and what happens next, and contact has the address.
