What Was Vanced Manager?
Vanced Manager was the companion app that downloaded and installed YouTube Vanced, Vanced Music and Vanced MicroG from Team Vanced's servers. It stopped working in March 2022, when the project shut down and those servers went offline.
How Vanced Manager worked
It was a front end over a release service. On launch it asked Team Vanced's servers which builds were available, downloaded the ones you chose, handed each file to Android's package installer, and kept track of installed versions so it could offer updates later. It never modified an app itself. Every file it installed had already been built and signed by the Vanced team.
Current status
The servers were switched off with the rest of the project, so Manager now opens, asks a question nobody answers, and fails. Depending on the Android version it hangs, spins, or reports a network error. The updated Vanced Manager APKs still circulating are not from Team Vanced: some are copies of the original that fail identically, and others have been repackaged by unrelated people.
Vanced Manager compared with ReVanced Manager
The names are similar and the models are not. Vanced Manager downloaded prebuilt apps from a central service, which made it simple to use and completely dependent on that service staying up. ReVanced Manager patches a base app on your own device, so there is no library of finished builds to take offline. That difference is the reason one project disappeared overnight and the other did not.
Migration path
Uninstall any leftover Vanced builds and Vanced MicroG first, since old MicroG interferes with newer setups. Install ReVanced Manager from the official ReVanced GitHub, add GmsCore if you want Google sign-in, then patch the YouTube version Manager recommends and install the result. Expect to set the app up from scratch, because nothing carries across from a Vanced install.
Common misconceptions
There is no working mirror of the Vanced servers, and a Manager APK that opens is not evidence otherwise. The final YouTube Vanced release is 17.03.38 from March 2022, so no Manager build can produce anything newer regardless of what a download page claims. ReVanced Manager is also not a continuation of this app by the same developers, and it will not install or repair a Vanced setup.
